dc.description.abstract The focus of this study is on the nature reserves and resorts owned by the Department of Small Business Development, Tourism and Environmental Affairs (DESTEA). The Free State Province boasts a number of nature reserves and resorts which have a potential of boosting tourism in the province. Tourism is one of the priority sectors of the Free State Growth and Development Strategy. Tourism entails visits to places of interest and includes visits to relatives or friends, travel for business purposes or trips for holiday, medical or religious purposes. en_US
