Abstract:
The purpose of this document is firstly to give background and explain the role of a Research Repository, and secondly to inform provincial government researchers about the specifications and information that is required in order to upload their research onto the newly acquired DSpace Repository platform of the Department of the Premier.
This paper further examines the current literature on the topic and discusses a number of initiatives and best practices which can be incorporated into repositories of the Free State Government, thereby supporting the planning and decision-making of various Departments of the Free State provincial government.
